The most common mistake in a majlis is buying to fill the walls rather than to fit the people. Here is the method our designers use before quoting any set.
Start with the walking line
Leave 90 cm of clear floor between opposite seating runs. Anything less and guests brush knees as they pass; much more and conversation across the room starts to feel shouted.
Count seats, not metres
Work out the largest gathering you actually host — not the one you host once a year — and add two seats. For most family majlis rooms that lands between eight and fourteen.
Check the door swing and the corners
Measure the diagonal of your widest piece against every doorway on the delivery route. A corner unit that fits the room but not the stairwell is the single most expensive measuring error we see.
Leave the corners for last
Corner units eat 110 cm in each direction. Place your straight runs first, then decide whether the corner earns its footprint or whether two separate runs serve the room better.
